Thick cast acrylic is particularly suitable for situations where standard sheets are inadequate. These extra-thick, crystal-clear sheets are distortion-free and excellent for machining.
Extruded acrylic is produced by continuously pushing acrylic mass through a mold, resulting in an impact-resistant and heterogeneous product. Its properties can vary depending on the direction of extrusion. Extruded acrylic is more affordable and dimensionally stable than cast acrylic, making it a cost-effective solution for general fabrication and a wide range of applications. Due to its malleability and low melting point, this type of acrylic is well-suited for laser cutting, routing, polishing, cementing, and thermoforming. It is also less prone to contamination from dirt, lint, or particulates during the production process.
